Sometimes people can be confused or confronted by the idea of lodging an insurance claim for a vehicle repair, but in fact it’s really quite a simple process.
Step 1: Notify the police of the collision
All vehicle collisions including on paths and other road related areas in the ACT must be reported within 24 hours.
Step 2: Lodge a claim
The next step is to contact your insurance company and lodge a claim. This process takes about 15 minutes in which the agent will ask you all of your personal and vehicle details including the details surrounding the accident.
Step 3: Visit us
After you have obtained a claim number from your insurance company, you can then visit or contact us to arrange a booking to have your vehicle repaired. We typically hold on to the vehicle whilst we prepare a quote for your insurance company,
Step 4: Insurance Approval
Once we have documented the full extent of the damage, we will prepare a quote for your insurance company. This can take a few days or even longer to receive approval.
Step 5: Hire Car or Courtesy Vehicle
Depending on the level of insurance you have, you may be entitled to or have cover for a hire car. Alternatively, if you don't have this as an option, we may be able to provide you with a courtesy vehicle if available.
Step 5: Collection / Delivery
Once we have completed your vehicle's repair, we will contact you to arrange collection. Alternatively, if you have one of our courtesy vehicles, we can deliver your repaired vehicle to you.
